As the president and chief executive officer of JEM Sportswear, Jeff Marine manages an apparel manufacturing firm that produces lines for Macy’s, Sears, JC Penney, and other national retailers. In recognition of his accomplishments, the Fashion Industries Guild of Cedars-Sinai Medical Center named him as the fashion industry Man of the Year in 2004.

For over half a century, the Fashion Industries Guild has conducted fundraisers on behalf of the Los Angeles-based Cedars-Sinai Medical Center. Individuals from many facets of the fashion industry have contributed to this foundation and enabled the hospital to expand its services. Since its creation, the Fashion Industries Guild has garnered more than $22 million, and it continues to run high-profile charitable events throughout the year.

Recently, this organization has aided in the establishment of numerous programs. Children requiring medical attention between general pediatric care and intensive care can benefit the Kenny Weinbaum Fashion Industries Guild Pediatric Acute Care Unit. The Ruth Bregman/Fashion Industries Guild Children’s Health Clinic offers health care to low-income families and accepts youth who are healthy, have chronic conditions, or have behavioral issues. Currently, the Fashion Industries Guild supports The Diana and Steve Marienhoff Fashion Industries Guild Endowed Fellowship in Pediatric Neuromuscular Diseases, which researches new treatments into spinal muscular atrophy, epilepsy, and other neurological diseases.
